Nickname: Bambi

Yeji Shin was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. She earned her B.S. degree in 2025 from Yonsei University, majoring in Chemistry with a double major in Biochemistry.

In January 2024, she joined Lee's group as an undergraduate intern, where she engaged in developing regio- and stereoselective allylic alkylation reactions using synergistic Lewis acid-base dual catalysis.

She is now pursuing her Ph.D. in Chemistry as a member of the Lee group, focusing on advancing novel reactions through cyclopropenimine-based ligand design.

Outside the lab, Yeji enjoys visiting cafés and exploring a variety of breads at new bakeries. Her personal motto, "approaching every challenge with curiosity and optimism”, reflects her enthusiasm and steadfast commitment as a researcher.
