Heung Yeol was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. In 2011, he studied abroad in Beverly Hills, California for about two years. He later returned to Korea and earned his bachelor’s degree from Yonsei University, graduating in 2025. He first joined the Lee Group as an undergraduate intern in 2023 and, as of 2025, is continuing his research in the group as a Ph.D. course student, focusing on asymmetric catalysis.
Outside the lab, Heung Yeol is passionate about traveling and has visited over 100 cities around the world. He also has a keen interest in fashion and enjoys photography in his free time.
