Hooseung was born and raised in Busan, Korea. He received his B.S. degree in 2018 from the Department of Chemistry at Daegu Catholic University (South Korea). Since 2020, he has been pursuing his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Yonsei University as a member of the Lee group. His research focuses on the design and development of chiral organocatalysts for applications in asymmetric catalysis.
Outside the lab, he often takes reflective walks and enjoys seasonal outdoor activities such as skiing and swimming. He likes to say, “Keep calm and love organic chemistry”—a motto that reflects both his passion and steady mindset as a researcher.
